Dispersion Compensation and Dispersion Slop Compensation To compensate dispersion at a specific wavelength, there is following equation:
DTF×LTF +DDCF×LDCF = 0
DTF: the dispersion of the transmission fiber.
LTF: the length of the transmission fiber.
DDCF: the dispersion of the dispersion compensating fiber.
LDCF: the length of the dispersion compensating fiber.
For dispersion slope compensation, there is:
STF×LTF +SDCF×LDCF = 0
STF: the dispersion slope of the transmission fiber.
SDCF: the dispersion slope of the dispersion
compensating fiber.
By combining the above two equations, we have follow equation to get both dispersion anddispersion slope compensation:
RDSDCF = SDCF / DDCF = STF / DTF
